Eligibility/Renewal

  • Students with a 3.75 High School GPA and an ACT composite of 28 or 3.5 HS GPA and an ACT composite of 30 are eligible to apply.
  • Students must have attended a New Mexico high school for at least one year and graduate from an accredited NM high school. (Home schooled candidates must take the New Mexico GED prior to their first semester at NMSU.)
  • Applicants who are finalists for the Prsident's Associates Scholarship will be invited to attend an interview with scholarship program representatives. Interviews will be scheduled in a number of communities across the state during February 2008. Finalists are not required to participate in the interviews, but are strongly encouraged to do so. We regret that expenses associated with travel to interviews cannot be reimbursed. More information on the interviews will be sent to those students who are named finalists.
  • Selected scholars will participate in the President's Associates Enrichment Program and are required to maintain time enrollment on the NMSU main campus.
  • The scholarship is renewable for up to 8 semesters, or graduation (whichever comes first). Students must maintain 3.5 cumulative NMSU GPA and completion of 12 computable credit hours per semester.
