William Conroy Honors Center

The University Honors College is located in the historic William B. Conroy Honors Center. The Conroy Center, one of the oldest structures on the campus, was constructed in 1907 and originally housed the campus YMCA chapter. The Conroy Center has won numerous historic preservation awards and is on the national and state lists of historic buildings.

The Conroy Honors Center houses the offices of the Honors College, the Crimson Scholars Program, and the University Fellowships Office. It has three seminar rooms as well as a social space for students. Two of the classrooms are traditional seminar rooms and one is designed for film, musicology, and art history classes. All classrooms are fully equipped with state-of-the-art computerized instructional equipment. The entire building is wireless-enabled, and the building is equipped with a portable computer classroom of 24 laptop computers that are checked out to students for classroom use.

The centerpiece of the Conroy Center is the beautiful Rigney Hines Honors Commons, which serves as a space for student study, relaxation, and social activities. A galley kitchen is also included in the building, and the building is surrounded by a spacious lawn area.
