Honors Courses
Most Honors courses satisfy University General Education requirements. Honors General Education courses have a 'G' suffix (for example, HON 111G satisfies a General Education requirement; HON 400 does not).
Lower-division courses satisfy General Education core requirements. For a list of General Education Equivalents for Honors Courses, click here.
Upper-division courses satisfy "Viewing a Wider World" requirements. To fulfill General Education requirements, students must take two "Viewing the Wider World" courses from outside the college of their major. The college from which Honors courses are taught are indicated by the following abbreviations:

In order to enroll in Honors Courses, you must have:
- New Students: An ACT Score of 26 OR an ACT Score of 24 and a 3.75 high school GPA
- For continuing students: A cumulative 3.5 GPA to take lower-division Honors courses, and a cumulative 3.2 GPA to take upper-division courses.
If you fall below these requirements, but still wish to take Honors courses, you must petition the Dean of the Honors College.
