Crimson Scholar Ambassador Program
Honors College

What does an Ambassador do?

As an Ambassador, you will assist the Honors College in recruiting new students. Your duties will include giving tours to students and their families, attending universtity Open Houses, helping with special recruitment campaigns and representing NMSU and the Honors College at career and college fairs, as your academic schedule will allow. In short, you have the potential to make a difference for the Honors College and for future honor students at NMSU.

Once you've been selected as an Ambassador, you'll go through team building exercises and an orientation process. You'll learn about the Honors College and more about NMSU than you ever thought possible. You'll quickly gain insight into student relations and recruitment techniques. Plus, you'll become well acquainted with your fellow Ambassadors, gain teamwork skills and even get to know yourself better.

How do I become eligible to apply for a Crimson Scholar Ambassador position?

You must be a Crimson Scholar (3.5 GPA) and a current sophomore or junior at New Mexico State Universtiy to be eligible to apply. Selection is based on current and past community service, communication skills, enthusiasm, and desire to serve. The program is patterned after similar organizations successfully used by schools and colleges across the nation and at NMSU.
