A student has given your name as a reference in applying for the position of Crimson Scholar Residential Mentor or Peer Advisor, a collaborative program developed by Housing and Residential Life, the University Honors College, and a number of sponsoring Colleges/Departments.
Crimson Scholar Residential Mentors will live in NMSU’s Honors Residence Hall (Monagle Hall) and will provide tutoring and mentoring services to students in all residence halls. Mentors will also be responsible for developing extra-curricular social and cultural programs for the Honors Residence Hall. Since Mentors will be assigned subject areas for tutoring, they will be selected partly on the basis of their disciplines and majors. Applicants must be Crimson Scholars with at least a 3.50 GPA, have at least sophomore standing, and be full-time residents of the Honors Residence Hall.
Peer Advisors will live in various Living Learning Communities in Garcia Hall, Monagle Hall, and Vista Del Monte Apartments. They create programs and activities related to the theme of their LLC, provide community-building, and offer academic support for residents. Applicants must be Crimson Scholars with at least a 3.50 GPA, have at least sophomore standing, and live in the LLC to which they are assigned.
