April’s Professor of the Month

Hello Aggies! My name is Madelyn Stoltze. I am from Moorpark, California. I have been teaching at NMSU for 3 years and my field of study is Communication Studies. I enjoy teaching concepts from Interpersonal Communication most, as it gets students very engaged. In the past I have volunteered with NMSU Cross Country and Track teams. Outside of NMSU I love running and hiking. Currently I am training for my 2nd marathon! My favorite book is called Born to Run. My favorite quote is “The energy of the mind is the essence of life” –Aristotle.  I love traveling throughout the U.S., but I will always love traveling back home to California to visit with friends, family, and the beach. This is my first semester teaching in the Honors College, and so far I am very happy with the students and faculty members. I believe the Honors College gives students the opportunity to fine tune their critical thinking skills through classroom discussion, which in turn shapes them to be competent communicators in their academic career and future endeavors. My advice for students is never lose sight of who you are and the dreams that you cherish.  Move forward towards your goals with perseverance and enthusiasm.Professor Madelyn Stoltze standing outside of the Speech Building
