March’s Professor of the Month

Hello NMSU. My name is Frank Gilpin. I am finishing my thirteenth year at New Mexico State.

I’m one of eight kids born and raised in Tulsa, OK. I teach dance, specializing in Flamenco and Spanish Dance with a bit of experience in Modern and Jazz.

Outside of NMSU I love cooking and wish I could do it while riding my bike…

I do some volunteer work such as presenting and integrating at senior centers frequently as well as helping our Student Club with volunteer events.

Some of my favorite books include: Tale of Two Cities, Crime and Punishment, 1st-5th Harry Potter’s, The Complete Tarzan series (ahh uhaaahhhuh aahhhh)

My favorite places to travel are beaches in Brazil and all over Italy and other European locations.

My advice to students is do not let anyone try and define you and focus hard on the passion and path you pursue.

I enjoy teaching honors courses. The Honors program is absolutely committed to its students’ growth and development. I believe the Honors College is a progressive interactive leader across the campus therefore I can think of nothing to criticize about it.

“Yesterday is history, Tomorrow is a mystery, and today a gift; that’s why they call it the present.”… Eleanor Roosevelt.
