Professor Shawn Werner teaches COMM 2175G for the Honors College at NMSU. She has been teaching for the university and the Department of Communication Studies since 2006. Courses she has taught include Introduction to Communication Studies, Organizational Communication, Small Group Communication, Communication Theory, Persuasion, and Conflict Management. In addition to teaching, Shawn is also an independent organizational consultant who works regularly with the NMSU Teaching Academy facilitating workshops, leading team-building events, and coaching faculty and staff on effective communication and leadership skills. She is a certified mediator, CliftonStrengths® coach, and trainer in Crucial Conversations®, Crucial Accountability®, and Emotional Intelligence(EQ).
